Hiking Weekend in the Smoky Mountains

Day 1
Pick up at Knoxville’s McGhee Tyson airport at 4:00pm (please book your travel to arrive no later than 3:00pm ET). We’ll arrive at our cabin overlooking the Smoky’s in time to settle in and get familiar with your surroundings. Over dinner we’ll get to know one another through opening circle activities, and your SheTravels guide will share the agenda based on weather forecasts and any other considerations for your safety and enjoyment over the course of your trip.
Day 2
Rise early to start your fist hike with the sunrise. After enjoying breakfast and packing up lunches and supplies for the day, we’ll drive to the gorgeous XX trail. The trail starts in a rainforest-like environment and works its way to outstanding views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
We’ll return to the cabin by early afternoon in order to relax and refresh before dinner, then enjoy a free evening to star gaze, relax in the hot tub, or test your competitive spirit by joining game night activities.

Day 3
You’ll have the option to rise early for a pre-dawn hike up XX that summits just in time to watch the sunrise. Those who choose this hike will return to the cabin by mid-morning and will have the option to sign up for a zipline adventure in the early afternoon (for an additional fee).
For those who prefer to hike in the light of day, we’ll rise a bit later, have breakfast and pack lunches before making our way to XX mountain. We’ll also get to climb the XXft, and will meet our peers back at the cabin by early afternoon.
After dinner we’ll head into nearby Pigeon Forge for an evening of go kart and mini-golf competition, with the option to take advantage of other activities in the area (anybody up for a bungee jump?!).

Day 4
Enjoy one final day on the trails as we chase multiple waterfalls on the relaxing and serene XX and YY trails. “All or part of every national forest and grassland is carved out of the ancestral lands of American Indian and Alaska Native peoples. Indigenous communities across the country still maintain strong historical and spiritual connections to the land, connections that have not been extinguished despite changes in land ownership.” -- Deputy Chief Leslie Weldon, U.S. National Forest System
Great Smoky Mountain National Park is located on lands originally cared for by the Tsalaguwetiyi people of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. European colonizers began taking over the lands in the mid 18th century, finally formalizing takeover of the majority of the land and relegation of native peoples to the Qualla Reservation, located just south of the national park.
